Aiming to support the recovery of the typhoon-affected families, Uniqlo and SM Foundation have been working together to make a positive impact in communities. Barangay Captain of Tugbungan received the Emergency Go Bag Kit from SM employee-volunteers led by its Mall Manager Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez. As part of its 5 Million donations, the fast retailing fashion brand Uniqlo previously donated 563 sets of dinner wares to typhoon-affected families in Zamboanga City; 469 sets of which were given to residents of Barangay Tumaga, and 94 sets were distributed to families taking shelter in Cabatangan evacuation site. SM Foundation, Inc. has officially announced the start of the application for SM Scholarship Program for 2023. The SM Scholarship Program started from the vision of the late SM patriarch, Henry “Tatang” Sy, Sr. He believed that if you send one child from an economically challenged family to college, that child would have more opportunities to have gainful employment and later on uplift the economic status of his/her family. As part of its 5M donation, the fast retailing fashion brand Uniqlo donated more than 500 dinnerware sets to typhoon-affected families in Zamboanga City last January 27. 94 families in Cabatangan evacuation center and 469 families in Tumaga were recipients of the dinner sets which were turned over by SM City Mindpro employee-volunteers led by its Assistant Mall Manager Engr. Rommel Bellen. “Many of them did not recovered yet from the effects of TS Paeng. Uniqlo and SM Foundation’s donation is very timely and we saw how happy and grateful they were when they received the dinnerware sets” , shared Engr. Rommel Bellen.
